Contest Categories

  • Costume Parade -- Our contests will kick off with a costume parade around the park. Show off your creativity and get ready for Halloween!  Winners will be judged based on "best overall costume", "best dog/human costume pair", and "best homemade costume".

  • What’s your rescue story? -- Tell us the story of your rescue dog!  Bring your dog to the stage and tell us how you helped give them a new "leash" on life! (All participants are winners!)

  • Not So Stupid Pet Tricks -- Show off your dog's special talent, no matter how "stupid" (or smart)!

  • Musical Sit — Like musical chairs, when the music stops, dogs must sit!

  • Catch contest -- Dogs will catch a frisbee (or ball)!  The most catches in 60 seconds will win!

  • "Dog of the Roundup" -- Have a poloroid of your pup taken at the park. Photos will be posted during the event. Event-goers can vote for their favorite.  The winning dog will be featured on the cover of the “Dogs of the Mad River Valley Dog Park” calendar!

WHY WE’RE FUNDRAISING

ALL PROFITS FROM THE ROVER ROUND UP GO TO THE MAD RIVER VALLEY DOG PARK OPERATING FUND.

Thank you for your support of the Mad River Valley Dog Park!

The dog park was created thanks to the support of a State of Vermont Better Places Grant along with the generous support of many individuals and local organizations and lots of volunteer talent, expertise, and labor.

We are now operating under the management of an independent committee of community members who are responsible for ensuring the park is insured and maintained.  This costs money, and the committee must raise funds every year to cover these operating expenses.

Rover Roundup is the first of the park's annual fundraising events to create a sustainable source of operating funds.  Your donations for entry as well as your purchase of food and services offered at the event, bids on the silent auction all go toward meeting this goal.
